Answer: Refer to our Age Group Matrix (here).

Question:  If I registered my child, but they aren't going to play in the upcoming season, can I get a refund?
Answer: Refunds for the upcoming season can be made until registration closes. After that time, barring extenuating circumstances, refunds will not be made. Once registration closes, players are quickly assigned to teams and jerseys are ordered. Making last-minute changes to rosters can be very difficult, to ensure that we maintain competitiveness between teams.

Question:  Can my child play in a younger age group?
Answer: Players may not play down an age group.

Question:  Can my child play in an older age group?
Answer: If a parent feels that their child would benefit from playing in an older age group, they can make a request to the player's current coach. If the coach agrees that the player should be moved up, based on their skill level, they may make a request to the CHSA board.

Question:  Can I request a specific coach or practice days?
Answer: You may request a specific coach or team, during registration, and we will make our best effort to honor these requests. However, we can't guarantee your request will be honored. Our top priority is to assign players to rosters, to ensure fair and competitive play between teams.

Question: What equipment does my child need to play?
Answer: Players must have black shorts, soccer socks, shin guards, soccer cleats (non-metal) and a soccer ball. The size of the soccer ball differs by age group.

Question: What size of soccer ball does my child need for their age group?
Answer: U6 - Size 3, U8 & U10 - Size 4, U13 - Size 5

Answer: Coaches normally conduct two (2) practices, during the week, in the late afternoon. The days and times vary, based on the coach. CHSA holds practices at our fields on Country Club Road in the Meadowlands and behind the American Legion in Houston.

Question: When are games?
Answer: Games are played on Saturday, from early morning to mid-afternoon. If more than one (1) games is cancelled, due to inclement weather, a makeup game will be rescheduled. Game dates are available on our website. Once registration closes and teams are assigned, specific game times will be set and provided.
